Dr. Nelson was born and raised in Michigan and achieved her BS degree at Holy Names College in Oakland , California . Dr. Nelson attended medical school at Michigan State University in

East Lansing , Michigan , graduating with honors and the degree of Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Nelson completed her residency training in Family Practice at Centura Saint Anthony Hospitals in Denver , Co. After completing residency, Dr. Nelson joined the United States Public Health

Corp and served in rural Colorado for 4 years before returning to the greater Denver area. Dr. Nelson has served as Medical Director for clinics devoted to Family Medicine, Urgent Care,

Occupational Medicine, Women's Medicine as well as her own significant Geriatric practice before her acceptance as Medical Director for the Comprehensive Pain Management Program located at Colorado Pain and Rehabilitation. Dr. Nelson has expertise in treating pain from pediatrics to geriatrics as well as musculoskeletal, medical illness, psychological syndromes and neurological pain. Dr. Nelson has three children, who are her inspiration and her perspiration. Aside from her busy life as a physician and mother, Dr. Nelson enjoys golf, international travel, photography as well as over 30 years as an aviation enthusiast. Dr. Nelson specializes in all aspects of Pain Management and takes a holistic approach to the resolution of pain, beginning with an accurate diagnosis for the source of pain, while integrating an interventional medical and multi-disciplinary approach which can restore quality of life to the patient.
