Manipulative Therapeutics/Chiropractic

The origins of osteopathy and chiropractic can be traced back to the late 19th century in American and around the world.  The
therapies remain similar to this day and are commonly referred to as "Manipulative Therapy".  The results come from the
restoration of normal joint function through specific, controlled movement and the repositioning of affected joints.

What you should know…

Manipulation is one of the safest and most effective treatments for spine and extremity joint pain, often times offering
immediate relief with little or no side effects. For patients with low-back, neck and head pain, manipulative therapies have been
proven to provide quick relief. Manipulation is also helpful for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other extremity pain. At CPR we
have a strict, evidence-based approach to Manipulative Therapy.

Manipulative Therapies work for:

Muscle pain

Sciatica
Nerve damage
Spine damage or injury

Medical Massage

Medical Massage is evidence-based, patient specific treatment that concentrates on areas of pain or injury and is proven
effective for relief of temporary and constant pain.

What you should know…

Medical Massage can be more effective when combined with other medically proven pain treatments.

Physical Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation exercise therapy is active and preventative treatment that helps manage pain by repairing and strengthening damaged soft tissue,
such as muscles, ligaments, and tendons.  Muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the affected area and surrounding areas atrophy (decrease in size) and lose range of motion when there is trauma to the body.   Exercise therapy helps alleviate discomfort and increases mobility by improving range of motion and neuromuscular function.  Rehabilitation therapy involves stretching and deep tissue stimulation to increase blood flow and minimize distress to the affected area.   Muscle strengthening is used to build stability around the traumatized region.  Strengthening also adds to the abatement of pain by taking less pressure off the area of interest.

What you should know…
Exercise therapy may be a good choice of treatment when:
-  You’ve had an accident or condition that has left you in pain or loss of daily function
-  You’re considering surgery or are recovering from surgery
-  You’re recovering from an illness or being treated for an illness
-  You’re recovering from a stroke or other neurological condition
-  To improve flexibility and strength to prevent injury or illness

A.R.T

Active Release Technique® is a patented soft tissue massage that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia
and nerves. ART® is effective in the treatment of soft tissue injuries, headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis
elbow and a variety of overuse conditions. Overuse of soft tissues through repetitive motion or athletics can cause your body to
produce dense scar tissue that binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. This can cause reduced range of
motion, loss of strength, pain, even numbness and weakness.

What you should know…

ART® can be a good choice for musicians, athletes and anyone who uses repetitive motion that results in overuse injury.
Overuse injuries can be detected by hand examination. Doctors can feel the problem areas and will treat with precisely directed
tension and patient movements. ART® can be 90% effective in relieving pain and restoring range of motion.
